I AM WONDER WOMAN!!!
I wonder where where my keys are, I wonder why I went upstairs, I wonder where my mind has gone, I wonder who will annoy me today……….
For women above 45 and those who know and love them, a big shout out to you all. It’s really good to be back home, home being this blog. When I took a break a month ago, I was not sure if I would return to writing on the blog. But here I am, feeling very rejuvenated and so so happy to be back. However, going forward, I will probably post once a month as against weekly to avoid being under pressure as that has a way of killing fun.
During my break, I tried some new things. I started a herbs corner with Oregano, Mint, Basil and Sage at home. And I made garlic powder with no additives and no anti-caking agent. Watch out for “Fit4Kings” spices. 😉

Are you female, above 45? When you are in a conversation, do you find yourself wondering if you are about to repeat yourself or even just forget what you mean to say? Are you anxious for no obvious reason? Do you become unnecessarily teary or get the urge to kill the person in front of you for no big reason? Do not worry, you are not going crazy. It’s the hormones playing tricks on you.
Menopause is puberty’s evil older sister with a strange sense of humour. It can make a woman or those around her question her mental state. This quote puts it aptly “Menopause makes you crazy. And when you think you’ve reached the bottom of craziness, you find there’s a crazy underground garage.’
Why is menopause a topic on a lifestyle blog? BECAUSE a healthy lifestyle can turn the table around and make the journey smooth. You really don’t want to be that woman with PMA (a woman who is Positive, Mental and with an Attitude) or hang around one.
If for any reason you’ve been stalling on getting on board the healthy lifestyle wagon, this is definitely a good reason and time to do so. Trust me, it will save your sanity. As you walk through the valley of peri-menopause (before the periods finally say bye), your body will go through a number of hormonal changes which may be accompanied by symptoms like mood swings and hot flashes. However, eating well and staying active can make the transmission smooth.
The following can help to relieve symptoms and stay healthy:
- Exercise regularly
- Eat more Protein, Omega-3 fatty acids, Fibre and Calcium
- Limit saturated fats, highly refined carbohydrates and sugar
- Limit alcohol and caffeine
With hormones running high and low, balance is the name of the game. Protein can regulate appetite and blood sugar, assist in maintaining muscle mass which decreases during this period and help with hormonal balance. Omega-3 fatty acids found in flaxseed, soybeans, oily fish etc can improve moods and reduce inflammation.
Fibre can curb cravings, fruits and vegetables provide that. Calcium found in yogurt, cheese, milk etc will reduce the risk of osteoporosis, which makes the bones more susceptible to fractures.
Estrogen running low now, gotta to sign off. To the ones who understood my post today, cheers! And to the ones who didn’t, catch you later.💪💪
Well said......
