Did You Know? Facts to Cheer You on the Healthy Journey

Another Thursday, another post. “The body is like a piano and happiness is like music. It’s needful to have the instrument in good order.” Henry Ward Beecher.

Today is about facts to encourage everyone to either get on the straight and narrow road of healthy living or stay on it. πŸ’ͺ

1.     Most of the fat lost by the body is through the lungs. According to the British Medical Journal, 84% of the fat lost                is converted to carbon dioxide and leaves the body through the lungs whilst 16% is converted to water. So keep                those trainers on……

2.     Cocoa is good for the skin, its antioxidants improve blood flow and protect against Ultraviolet damages. Enjoy                cocoa! It has many health benefits. It’s on my “must have” list”.

3.     Tea can lower the risks of a heart attack, certain cancers, Type 2 diabetes and Parkinson’s disease. Drink tea,                 whether it’s hot or cold and it doesn’t matter if it’s white, black or green. Get the kettles whistling.

4.     An apple a day can reduce levels of bad cholesterol.

5.     Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the healthiest fat on earth. Who doesn’t know that?

6.     The Amino Acid in eggs can help improve reflexes.

7.      Vitamin D is as important as calcium in determining bone health and most people don’t get enough of it (those in             the Tropics included).

8.     Dehydration can have a negative impact on mood and energy levels . Drink enough water to ensure you are always         at your best.

9.     The spinal disc core is comprised of a large volume of water. Dehydration can cause back pain.

10.   Indoor air pollution can be worse than outside, keep your homes and offices well ventilated.

11.   It takes only a few minutes to eat a meal but it takes the body hours to completely digest the food.

12.   The soles of our feet contain more sweat glands and nerve endings per square inch than anywhere else on the                 body. Pamper those feet.

13.     Any time you feel down, plan a vacation. It’s not just the getaway that makes you feel better but the planning and              anticipation of a vacation will give a happiness boost when feeling down. Did someone get that?

14.     Smelling Rosemary can increase alertness and improve memory so catch a whiff before that important meeting.

15.     Laughing is good for the heart and can increase blood flow by 20%. Start your hearty laughters today to keep                  away heart attacks.

Your health is very much an investment and not an expense. Embrace and love it, it’s the most amazing thing you will ever own. Do all you can for it. Au Revoir!
