Happy Hormones - can’t get enough
Hi everyone.
This is definitely a good day, I feel very inspired to write. What I’m going to write has not come forth but all I can think of is “write”.
Is that the work of the “cyclist high”? I cycled for about half an hour this morning and suddenly, I feel like I can conquer the world.
About three months ago, after the belt of my treadmill needed a change as a result of my DIY skills, I decided to buy a bicycle to keep my exercise routine going.
Why bicycle? I’m not sure. Could it be because of the many cyclists I see on the road or that my English daddy is an avid cyclist. Whatever the reason, fast forward to last month I got one.
Prior to getting this bicycle, I had not been on one in like thirty-five years or more, although I must confess that cycling was a big part of my pre-teen years.
After the initial wobbling and trying to get a hang of it, it became a pleasure. So much so that the first time I rode for about ten minutes, I felt like a child in a candy store. The excitement was so high that I could not contain it. I ended up baking my first ever “malted bread with seeds and nuts”.
What am I on about? It’s the Endorphins, the great high reward for exercising and getting the heart pumping. This “high” will make you feel you can conquer the world, keep at it and you will find yourself conquering it.
Somebody say, “Go She, it’s your party”.
“Our entire personality, our energy level and how we cope is hormonal.”
When we exercise, we release the “Happy Hormone” called Endorphins into our bloodstream, making us feel more energised and in a better mood. The more endorphins we release, the less stress and anxiety we have.
Hormones are the body chemical messengers, once released they control everything from body functions to feelings.
Exercise does not have to be a particular form or the other. Choose what you enjoy and alternate from time to time. It’s easier to wake up early to exercise than not liking what you see in the mirror, I think.
Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions. Dalai Lama
Exercise gives us endorphins and endorphins make us happy. Let’s all work towards our happiness, get the trainers on.
See you on the tracks.
Live well!!!!!!
💯👍🏾👊🏽
ReplyDeleteVery precise advisory. I had to purchase a bicycle last month to ease my chronic waist pain. A lot of improvement since then.
