HEALTHY INDULGENCE - Is it possible?

Hello everyone! Welcome to another post on “Rejuvenatedlifebyashe”. I hope you are taking at least one step towards healthy living, one day at a time. Remember, healthy living is not just about stopping unhealthy habits but also about adding good ones. Today’s post is about one of my very favourite things, it’s one thing I wish I can have every single day. You may wonder why I don’t have it everyday if I like it that much. The answer is, it may just put me out of pocket.   What can be healthy and indulgent at the same time? The answer will definitely vary widely for each of us. This post is not about wanting to have your indulgent cake and then eating it. It is about luxury entwined in healthy eating. Hmmmm, I like………… Let me start from one of my foodie stories. Many years ago whilst searching through several recipes, I noticed Balsamic Vinegar. Being the foodie that I am, I did some research and found out that there are the supermarket balsamic vinegars and the real deal ‘BALSAMIC...

Healthy Lifestyle - Very Well Worth It!

My very dear readers, I really missed you. 😍 I know a lot of you have wondered why I needed three weeks for a one day birthday. Well, I think birthday celebration is one of my innate talents. As long as I can remember, my birthday has always meant the world to me. In fact, anyone who cannot relate to it most definitely cannot be my personal person, if you know what I mean. That important! As a matter of fact, one of my kids EDD was on my birthday. Hehe, I made sure she came earlier. Imagine sharing my birthday with my daughter , then who will be the hostess when she no longer lives under my roof? No, no, no, that can’t be right as I can bet that I will be expected to make the sacrifice.😏 Enough about my birthday, which by the way I thoroughly enjoyed. I have good news! I am happy to announce the launch of “ Fit4Kings ” . It’s a brand that supplies foods that are definitely good enough for any royal table. As at today, “Fit4kings” supplies Raw Honey, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Cakes and ...

My Gut Feelings - what happens in Vagus does not stay in Vagus

Welcome to the fifteenth post on Rejuvenated Life by a She. It’s hard to believe it’s been fifteen weeks since that very first post. Time does fly when one is having fun. From scribbling to posting to repackaging and selling raw honey…………..it still feels surreal.  Today’s post is dedicated to the memory of my dear doctor, Dr. Amole. He was not just my doctor but a friend and brother. He listened to me as long as I spoke and gave me tissue when I needed to wipe away tears. Thank you for encouraging me to fight HBP and assuring me I could do it. I will miss you for a very long time. Vagus is a Latin word that means wandering. Today’s post is on the Vagus Nerve. Trust me, I’m not here to confuse you but inform you that your gut is directly connected to your brain, so watch what you eat. This wandering nerve is one of the longest and most important nerves, and it does get around. It stretches from the base of the brain all the way down the spinal cord and reaches key organs like the he...

Healthy Lifestyle: What has shoes got to do with it?

Hello and how are you on this good day? Today’s post is what I’ll like to term “buy now and pay later”. 😏Before you wonder what the means, I’ll explain. It’s a term I learnt from a dear friend’s mum and what it simply means is that, there are things that we buy because they gratify our immediate desires but in the long run, cause pain. Our feet are the foundation of our everyday lives. Every good foundation must have the appropriate support. The health of our feet has a profound effect on our entire body and quality of life. We spend most of our days in shoes so buying and wearing good shoes is very important. Shoes go beyond good looks as bad shoes can cause long term injuries. Investing in good shoes can help you to feel your best and prevent injuries , thereby beneficial to health. For the sake of your overall health, always choose shoes that are supportive and comfortable. Without realising it, wrong shoes can significantly reduce your quality of life. All shoes alter the shape of...

The World of Tea (A.K.A Liquid Wisdom)

You are all welcome to today’s post. I encourage you to live well, one day at a time and form healthy habits rather than restrictions; for there is no diet that can beat healthy eating. So stay on the healthy lifestyle lane. “ A simple cup of tea is far from a simple matter ” Mary Lou Heiss. Tea! It is the second most consumed drink in the world, with water in the first position. All teas, Black, Green, Oolong , White and Pu’erh come from the same plant known as Camellia Sinensis. All other drinks we may know as tea are actually ’tisane’ or more widely termed herbal tea. Tisane is any flower, fruit or herb that can be steeped in water and ingested. Every tea contains essential oils (provides the aromas and flavours), polyphenols (provides the health benefits) and caffeine (the energy boost). What differentiates one tea from another is the way the leaves are processed. As all teas come from the same plant with the same basic composition, the benefits are similar. Even though there are d...

The Wonder of “Five a Day” - Fruits and Vegetables

I’m thrilled to welcome you to Rejuvenated Life By A She. I hope you will be immensely inspired to live well if you are yet to embark on that journey and for those already on it, keep on keeping on. 👏Strive for progress and not perfection!  In case there is anyone looking for a shortcut to being healthy, I am sorry but there is none. It takes time and deliberate efforts to build a better and stronger version of you. The good news is that it’s never too early or too late to start.   A step in the right direction is always a good one. “ The food you eat can either be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison. ”           Ann Wigmore Today’s post is about what we all probably know but may not be practising. We should all be eating fruits and vegetables like our lives depend on them, because truth be told, they do. They are actually the most important aspect of our healthy lifestyle. Let us eat them to be in good h...

Herbs & Spices - overflow of goodness

HELLO! I am very excited to welcome you to “Rejuvenated Life by a She”. According to Henry Cloud, “we change our behaviour when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of changing and that the consequences of the pain is what motivates us to change.” I really hope you will not wait for pain as a motivation to live well.  😏 There are many misconceptions about healthy eating. A lot of people assume that eating healthy means eating bland and boring foods. The solution to that is herbs and spices, they add flavour to food and make healthy meals delicious and interesting. One of the biggest benefits of using herbs and spices is that they are a healthy way to get you into eating right. Enjoying your food is very key to maintaining healthy habits for the long haul. Herbs are leaves which can be used fresh or dried, e.g. thyme, rosemary, parsley etc. Spices on the other hand, are usually dried and ground from barks and roots of plants and trees. The use of herbs ...

KEEP CALM - Use Essential Oils

HELLO EVERYONE! 📢Today is one of those days I feel like a rockstar. I can’t tell if it’s the honey, the olive oil or just the lovely smell of Lavender, Rosemary, Juniper and Black-pepper. I am sure glad it’s not one of those days that I can’t find something that is right there in my hand.  💃 I hope everyone has imbibed at least one new habit towards living well. I will like you all to remember that Healthy Living is about being responsible for EVERYTHING that goes in and out of you.   Many things are good, many are important but only a few are essential, Essential Oils is one of them. I discovered essential oils many years ago in my bid to preserve my sanity from the constant noise that came from living with someone whose nasal passage was never clear. Little did I know I was on a self discovery journey. It turned out to be not only a relief for the He allergy sufferer but also an answer to all my moods. It’s amazing how I am in   different moods each day of the week....
